if a cis boy enjoys wearing dresses, no one questions that he can still be a boy.. but if a trans boy is femme, or a trans girl is butch, or nb people exist in a more “”visually gendered”” way than skinny masculine androgyny, the validity of their gender will without a doubt be called into question. because people believe there is some fundamental validity to being cis whereas trans people constantly have to prove ourselves.
also: if trans people dont hate our bodies, the validity of our gender is called into question. again, because cis people believe that cis-ness is fundamentally valid and that trans people have to want to achieve cis-ness in order to really be the genders we are.
trans people’s genders are not a performance of cis-ness, they are a reality
